Critique Rip-Off

The frustration of reading a 220-page book and writing a critique essay on it is indescribable. Especially to do it during a study break. Sigh and double sigh...The book that is causing such a pain in the you-know-where: Only One Earth. Was reading page 125 out of 220 before writing this post. Been speed-reading the whole afternoon and since dinner. Only read 47 pages today...
The idiosyncratic essay is worth 20% of my overall grade. Another whooping 40% essay coming up. Exam is only 30% and it's open book!I regret of taking this unit: STP109 Approaches to Sustainable Development...It's a warm night today. 15.6 degree Celsius at 2213 hours. It was colder in the afternoon: 13 degree Celsius.

Probabilites, Chances and Random Variables

Was gonna blog something exciting today. But then, I dropped by Pheobe's blog and listened to its background song: Yiruma- Do You. Such a beautiful piece of melodies. My mood was dampened.

I become very withdrawn lately. I stopped talking to some of my friends in uni. And all my flatmates as well. Hate to make them worry but can't help turning on my antisocial mode. A few stuffs are bothering me =(

I don't know who should I talk to sometimes. It feels like I'm at an intersection in a busy highway. Chances really come and depart when you're not expecting them. I feel so depressed for not taking my chances when I had them. Now everyday I'm reminded by how I lost them. Every single moment when I think of them. What are the probabilities of them coming back into my life? I swear I'll never let this happen again. I just need one shot of Pure Windfall.

Oh well, I guess I'll figure it out during my stats test later.

Going To The Movies (Again)!

I've watched Coraline 4 hours ago. Quite a nice movie actually. Very unique indeed. Love the creativity and graphical aspects of the movie =) Seems like I've watched more movies in Perth than in KK. In fact, I don't remember watching more than 5 movies in KK. Yup, that's the truth...

Let's review:

1. Confessions of A Shopaholic

2. Pink Panther 2

3. State of Play

4. Star Trek 11

5. Ice Age 3

6. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

7. Orphan

8. Coraline

Oh wow, and more to come. Next on the list: District 9.

Suburb Day

aka Thursday
Went to watch a movie after lectures in Southlands: Orphan. Watching movies in Australia can be so expensive. Concession tickets are $14.50, which would make it to be about RM45. The good thing about the cinema here is that it doesn't stink.
Not a bad movie, but kinda have the been there, done that feeling. At least that is for me... Dunno about you guys.Time to get my laser printer from Dick Smith (electronic store). About time too! After 2 weeks of waiting, they finally shipped one to the store in Murray Street.
I'm telling you guys: carrying a bulky 9kg printer in its box and walked around Perth city like an idiot was NOT A FUN THING TO DO. Everyone was staring at me. How embarassing! Oh yeah, I had to take a train and a bus to get back to my hostel. What a nightmare! Not to mention it was peak hours, so I was going " Excuse me, pardon me, GIANT PRINTER COMING THROUGH..." There wasn't a vacant seat on the Mandurah Line at that time. Thank god, a few people willingly gave me their seats, so I just sat down gratefully.
In the end, I made it. I started to assemble my printer straight away. To my dismay, I need to buy a USB cable to connect the printer to my laptop. So I went to Garden City at 6pm, after destroying every spinal vertebrae and wearing out synovial fluid in my back carrying the printer from Perth to Murdoch, to get the vital cable. Haiz... it was raining heavily when I was walking to the bus stop. Hence, I was soaked wet by the time I get to Garden City.
My wallet has a big hole in the coin pouch area. Sad... My faithful servant for more than 2 years.

Retarded

My mind hurts. Everything is just not the same anymore. Chances came and went.

It's 4.41am and I'm still thinking about you. I came to the realisation that I can no longer pull myself out of this mess.

I've fallen in love with you without knowing that I would. It was once a state of mind, a silly make-believe. Now it's evolving into something sweet like caramelised honey. Never foreseen all of these initially. Please tell me what to do next.

Strawberries & Oranges

During today's lecture, Riseley Street popped into my mind. This is what happens when you're going to Garden City after lectures.I miss my dear pillow during lectures and tutorials. Why? 'Coz I overslept and was almost late for my early morning statistics tutorial.

After lecture? Eva and I dash for a bus to Murdoch Station. Unfortunately, there's a bus driver meeting from 10.30am to 1.30pm, so we took a train to Bullcreek. The moment our feet stepped off the platform, deja vu! Bullcreek station looks alike as Murdoch Station, except it is in a wild orange theme. Oh no! Bus No.205's and 501's bus drivers went for the meeting as well. And so we waited... The longer the time crawls, the shorter the temper grows... Visions of desert famine haunting Bullcreek Station flashed through my mind. Finally, when I thought I was going to starve to death (didn't have breakfast or lunch), the long-awaited bus arrived.

Strawberries are in season. $2.25 per pack. Oranges as well. These are Navel Oranges from Woolsworth.
And of course, my favourite Apple Cinnamon.
Today is definitely a bizarre day. Going to shopping during school day...

Semester 2 Units

Day 1- 4/8/09
It was such a confusing day. Saw some old faces in Statistics and Cell Biology =) 441 students studying Cell Biology this semester!

At noon, went to Approaches to Sustainable Development first ever lecture. Oh no! It was boring as ever... I daydreamed. 60% of the total grade goes to 2 mega essays. One 20%, one a crazy 40%. 10% for tutorial discussion. Only 30% for the final open-book exam. Went to the wrong building for my STP109 tutorial and can't seem to find the right room. As a result... I was 8 minutes late. Got my tongue stucked when it was my turn to voice out my thoughts. Sigh...

Day 2- 5/8/09
Statistics lesson at morning. Can't help but daydreamed like usual. Oops! One hour flew by with me only able to grasp less than 40% of the random stuffs lectured by the lecturer. Wait for 3 hours for Australian Environmental Issues first ever lecture. What? 3 major assignments in 14 weeks with a heavy weighting of 50% of the total grade? I think I'm going to faint...

Thoughts about these 4 new units:
Statistics and Data Analysis
-Not bad. But the lecturer is kinda old and subsequently her voice merely pass as a loud whisper (unsurprisingly), thus I daydream during the 2 lectures.

Cell Biology
- Sounds familiar. ER, mitochondria... etc etc... But it's just the introduction part...

Australian Environmental Issues
- A bit out of my normal norm. Lots of political, economical stuffs which bore the hell out of me. But it's still related to Australian environment and geology, so I guess it's still fine by me. But too much assignments!!! How on earth should I pretend to write a recommendation letter to a prestigious political leader to address an environmental issue and provide alternative ways?

Approaches to Sustainable Development
- Not only inaccesible to me, but utterly boring too. Even more unknown government and private organisation... Probably the worst unit for this semester.

Goodbye, Winter Holiday

Oh no! Lecture will start tomorrow. Kinda sad to say goodbye to the winter holiday, but kinda anticipating for the new semester as well!

Maybe not these 'coz they're next semester's.Enjoying Perth sunshineThis is the coldest temperature on my digital clock during my stay in the flat.I wasted more money during holiday than normal uni days.Countless time wasted on waiting for a bus or a train as well. I remember you! Garden City which I visited numerous time, still I find it interesting!
Going to bars, pubs, clubs. Current record: 2 bars, 4pubs and 1 club.Took some alcohol. Last Tuesday went to Kardinya Tavern and got so drunk... According to my flatmates, I was laughing at the shopping trolley and dancing wildly while walking back. I hugged some people that I don't know as well.Bird-observing...Went to AQWA. Never seen a pineapple fish before. The turtle reminds me of Pheobe, whom seldom online ever since she went to Curtin Miri.Skink!Say farewell to my best buddy, Robert.Met some new friends as well.
Went to Freo as well, since it's so near. 20 minutes bus ride.Of course, my potted plant was bought. Its leaves are a bit yellowish green now. Could use some sunshine tomorrow.
